GE redeploys 800 jobs connected to F136 engine

GE Aviation is redeploying most of the 800 engineers who were working on its alternate engine for the Joint Strike Fighter, pending clarification of where the engine stands in the upcoming 2012 federal budget.
Those redeployments mean GE likely will not be hiring some 500 additional engineers in Evendale this year as it had planned.
?It?s a significant lost opportunity for Greater Cincinnati and for GE,? GE spokesman Rick Kennedy said Tuesday.
