Toyota unveils new Camry, Toyoda visits Georgetown, Ky.

Toyota Motor Corp. revealed a revamped, lower-priced Camry on Tuesday, with the company?s president, Akio Toyoda, traveling to Georgetown, Ky. so he could drive the first completed car off the assembly line, New York Times reported.

The 2012 Camry, scheduled to reach dealerships in early, is vital to Toyota?s recovery. The world?s largest automaker from 2008 through 2010, it is on pace to rank third this year, behind General Motors and Volkswagen.

The new model was introduced Tuesday on a Hollywood backlot, broadcasting the ceremony to gatherings in New York, Michigan and the Georgetown plant where Toyoda appeared.
